In Skull and Bones you’ll come across treasure maps and most are not always straight forward where the treasure is located. You can only carry five treasure maps at a time so make sure you are always doing them so you don’t miss out on that loot! The text/story and the image image on the top right points to a random location once inside but the large picture is a dead giveaway where you should be headed. Here is a list to help reduce the guesswork. I’m building this list as I play so if you don’t see a map you have, just give it a few days, I’m sure I’ll have it soon!
Where to get treasure maps
Privateers and pirates are the easiest places to acquire your treasure maps and they are mostly rare and worth porting to go get as you’ll easily make up for your cost to get there. You can also get them from regular ships at a lower drop rate and most are new/common. World bosses will also drop legendary treasure maps and worth the hunt so make sure you have room for them!
Open Seas Treasure Map

The BToA had a fancy chest so I stole it. I decided to head for Open Seas, southwest of The Forgotten Candi. May your enemies stumble into perils meant for you.

The Compagine Royale spread the tripe that the chests were cursed. I didn’t care. I took them. In Red Isle, northwest of Vorona Falls, hunger gave way to furious mutiny. I was at the center of it all. Life was simpler before all of this, I long for those days.

Open Seas Treasure Map

The BToA hired me to deliver a valuable chest, but I did not. We wrecked near Open Seas, but I saved the chest and buried it. I wonder when they will decide to kill me.

Tenina Coast Treasure Map

Mina hired me to deliver a valuable chest, but I did not. Rogues came for our haul. I took off and hid the chest in Tenina Coast, southeast of Mother of Shipwrecks. May you find what you seek.

East Indies Treasure Map
The BToA unleashed hellfire upon the enemy. I nicked a chest while they burned. The storm near East Indies, south of Telok Penjara tore our ship in two. If used wisely, this could set you on your way.

Baixio Grande Treasure Map

I could not resist. When I saw that chest I had to have it. Tempers flared and a massacre ensued in Baixio Grande, northeast of Fort Louis. Freedom beckons! I just need to escape the DMC.

Pembe Treasure Map

Lost an eye fighting for The Privateers. But this treasure will make amends. I hurried to Pembe, north of The Navigators’ Cross and buried it deep. Only then did my pounding heart settle. Where adventure takes me, trouble follows. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This map comes from fighting the world event boss Plague Lord Phillipe La Peste and is a random drop. There are absolutely no words hinting to where the location can be, just the discolored picture and the locations inside are usually more out of the way than normal but worth searching for!

We claimed the fort, but my only thought was grabbing something for myself. The Compagine Royale had me land in Coast of Africa, north of Navigator’s Cross. I buried it there. Maybe I could sell someone the story?

I crept aboard the ship of The Confederation of Ungwana and left with a chest. Rogues pounced on me near Coast of Africa, west of Poacher’s Cache. The ship was finished, but I slipped away. Will they ever stop coming after me?
